Together we will make a difference for Oregon!
For nearly twenty-five years, Lou Ogden has driven prosperity and progress as Mayor of Tualatin.
As a proven non-partisan leader, Lou has helped facilitate the creation of thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in successful public works projects. Under Lou's leadership, Tualatin was named one of America's best cities in a nationwide competition for America's Best Communities.
Now Lou is ready to bring that leadership to the Bureau of Labor & Industries (BOLI) where he can work to help our entire state thrive.
A common concern is that BOLI isn't fairly balanced between the needs of workers and businesses. As our next Commissioner, Lou plans to restore balance, ensure workers are fairly treated and businesses have surety and support for following the labor laws.
Under Lou's leadership, the Bureau of Labor & Industries will be facilitative, proactive, and fair.
For years, Lou has focused on creating communities where people can live, work, shop, and play. But Lou knows that means leaders must be focused on creating family wage jobs.
As our next Commissioner, Lou will continue building on decades of relationships he's built with educators, businesses, labor unions, and lawmakers to focus on ensuring the jobs being created in Oregon pay living wages.
As Tualatin's Mayor, Lou has been focused on creating education pathways, raising money and community awareness for maker programs and career-technology education opportunities for high school students.
"The future is here now. We must ensure our kids are ready to compete in a global economy." - Lou Ogden
"Key Knife, Inc. has valued Lou's leadership as Mayor of Tualatin for the past 20 years. As an employee-owned company, we believe he has the skills and experience to provide the necessary direction and change needed at the state level, resulting in a win-win for labor and industry.
We support Lou Ogden for Oregon's BOLI Commissioner."
